Darmstadt, round two

When Taber and I tried to go to Darmstadt when he was here, there was a festival going on, but it was ridiculously hot, so we only stayed for a few hours and walked around the city center and went home. This time it was still pretty hot, but not quite as bad. And I went in the evening after work, so instead of just getting hotter and hotter, it cooled off (a tiny bit) the longer I was there.

Jugendstillbad, which I presume is a bath or spa or pool

There is a lake right in the middle of the city. Nice.

This time I was able to make it out the Matildenhohe, which was an artists' colony in the early 1900s.

Russian Chapel

This is the museum, I imagine it looks pretty cool when it isn't being renovated

Nearby that is Park Rosenhohe. It was a nice park. It looked big though, so I didn't see the whole thing.

But I did meet a cat while I was there. He was very friendly.

Then I went to the Ratskeller for dinner. Here is a picture of the Rathaus without a ferris wheel in front of it (which is how it looked last time I was there). The white sausage came in a cool bowl and came with a pretzel and "housemade" mustard....that came in a package.
The Darmstadt Palace is across the street from the Rathaus.
